Are Bird Dogs Good With Kids

Article Title: Are Bird Dogs Good With Kids
Author: Dave Jackson

There are many hunting bird dogs and the question comes up at
Three Best Dogs if this breed is good with kids. The short
answer is, yes - most are wonderful pets. But I know you're
dying to know - just what about them is good, and can they be
trusted with your children.

Many of the bird dog breeds that go hunting for duck or
pheasant, are excellent house pets. These dogs have been breed
to move and need a lot of exercise to stay fit. Make very sure
you buy a dog that reflects your lifestyle. Many poor pup has
grown fat and lazy because the family simply doesn't have enough
time to take them out for a jog. Many of these owners could use
the exercise themselves, but that's another story.

Hunting dogs, like the bird dog, come from Great Britain or
Europe. They were part of the hunting team and worked hard to
bring food to the table. Nowadays bird dogs don't go out
hunting, but you can still see the instincts after all these
years.

I'm sure you're waiting for names of dog breeds that are great
with kids and so here they are: First, we're talking about
Pointers, Retrievers, and Setters - anything else isn't
considered. Airedales have to one of my favorites. They are
excellent work dogs and have great coats. Super good with kids,
Airedales are quite affectionate.

The Chesapeake Bay Retriever has been said to be a nice dog as
a pet. I've never had one, but as a rule, they are not playful.
Chesapeake Bay Retrievers are quite and protective of their
owner. Another one of my favorites is the Weineraner. These
beautiful dogs are loyal and gentle and will not tear the house
up. Weineraners are intelligent and hard workers and great with
the kids.

One other entry that I advise friends to get when looking for
the right dog for kids is the English Pointer. Along with
English Setter, Pointers are some of the best canines on the
planet. They work hard to please and they are so good looking.
Excellent with kids, Pointers and Setters are easy to care for
and train.

So there you have it - nice dogs for your family. With these
choices you can start your research in earnest.
