Why Take Your Pet On Holiday?

Article Title: Why Take Your Pet On Holiday?
Author: Darlene Berkel

Pets are very popular with people all over the world – they
give their owners unconditional love, and let people play and
have fun in a way that only pets can. Some people love their
pets so much that they take them with them almost everywhere
they go – from shopping to restaurant visits.

Visiting Pet Friendly Places

The most common pets that are usually brought along by their
owners are dogs and cats. These animals are pampered animals
that are usually small enough to put in a bag or on a light
leash. Most owners of these animals are the rich and famous.
They often do not go around without their pets. They are the
reasons why many restaurants and hotels are turning pet
friendly.

Restaurants are more than just places where we eat. Often,
people conduct business over a good meal, and restaurant
managers realize that if they can cater to the desires of these
business customers then they will get high quality, repeat
customers. If these customers wish to bring small pets with
them, then so be it.

In some areas, such as California and New York, the restaurant
owners have taken 'pet friendly' to a while new level – offering
the pets their own seats, and even their own menu. Those who
cherish their pets and want the very best from them would
struggle to find better service than that! The restaurants get a
lot of benefit from the extra business that such pet service can
generate.

Some pet friendly hotels have even developed an activity center
for the pets. The most common pets that are brought along during
vacations are cats and dogs. Pet friendly hotels and vacations
resorts have gone out of their way to entertain their guests by
entertaining their pets. A happy pet means a happy owner. If the
owner sees that his pet is well taken care of at the activity
center then he can also go out and enjoy himself. It is very
similar to baby sitting services for children.

More and more establishments are becoming pet friendly to at
least some extent – there are several hotels that allow smaller
pets to stay overnight, and an increasing number of museums are
allowing pets to enter. The responsibility still falls upon the
owner to make sure that their pet is well behaved and does not
cause any damage, but as long as your pet is well trained, you
have more options than ever before when it comes to taking your
pet with you on holidays or days out.

Training The Dog Owner Should Be The First Step

Article Title: Training The Dog Owner Should Be The First Step
Author: Darnell Symington

Caring for a dog is a great responsibility and one that should
not be taken lightly. Taking care of a dog requires dedication
and love in large quantities to provide your canine companion
with a safe and secure home. Dogs are close relatives to wolves
and are still instinctively wild, so they require dog training
to make them suitable for domestic life. A well trained canine
is a wonderful pet and a loving companion that will be with you
for a very long time.

What Training Your Pet Accomplishes

Proper training will improve the relationship between you and
your dog while setting clear boundaries for acceptable behavior.
Communication between you and your animal friend will become
clearer and the animal's respect for you will grow. Training
your dog basic commands does not require many dog supplies, only
a collar and leash. Many people choose to enlist the help of a
professional trainer for the initial training of their animal,
but once the animal and the owner have the basics of training
perfected, any other training can occur alone.

When Should You Train Your Pet

Training your pet should occur while the dog is still a puppy.
This is the period of greatest learning for the animal and the
lessons that he learns now will stay with him for the rest of
his life. A large dog must be trained as a puppy as he will
quickly become too large to control. Early training is also
important because it establishes you as the dominant pack animal
in your relationship. Being dominant does not mean that the dog
has to be submissive; it just means that he will look up to you
as his provider and the person that keeps him safe. He will
learn to trust you and will obey your commands without question
because he trusts you to do what is right for him.

One of the best ways for a dog to learn a new lesson is to see
other animals performing the same task. This is why animal
training classes are so popular. In these classes, animals and
their owners can learn proper training techniques and can
observe the techniques used by other pet owners. It also
provides a designated forum for the learning to occur. If
deciding to train your pet at home, the training should occur in
an area free of distractions. This way the animal's focus will
be entirely on the training. By giving your dog the proper
training, you will be helping him fit into the urban setting
while keeping him safe from harm.
